Scott County is located within a 300 mile radius of Chicago, St. Louis, and Nashville. Located on I-65, both Scottsburg and Austin are also served by U.S. 31. The area is located such that access is easily available to three commercial airports in Indianapolis, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Seymour's Freeman Field Airport, with access to I-65 via U.S. 50 and Indiana 11, has two, lighted 5,500-foot runways. The local airport is used for cargo and charter service. Water transportation is also available through Clark Maritime Center, located 30 miles south via I-65 on the Ohio River.
